We’re all on our own journeys and we’re all at different points in that journey. We’ve chosen paths meant for us. However, our brains like order, we like categorizing things and we love it best when one label or title describes something and we can put things into those categories. And we like to put those labels on people too. I'd like us all to celebrate what makes you happy, because you are not what you do. You’re an accountant, a customer service rep, a senior vice president, an assistant to the vice president … a ____________ fill in the blank. As

This year, I have decided to try to send more mail to friends and strangers around the world. Which evolved into sending a letter a week in a 52 letters mail challenge. It is no secret that I love traditional hand written letters. There is nothing quite like getting a brightly coloured envelope in your mailbox from a loved one or friend. And when you open and read their handwriting it feels like you have just sat down and had a long friendly chat. In such a busy and digital world, we often feel alone and miss the personal connections with other humans.

I challenged myself to send more mail in 2017. So I have been preparing colourful and inspiring decorated happy snail mail envelopes that are ready to send in the mail. I use colourful paper to make envelopes. or use existing envelope designs I love and then add matching washi tape. When I am ready to send out some mail, they only need a stamp and an address. Creative people who succeed build their confidence over time and learn to embrace their failures as lovingly as their successes. I want to encourage everyone out there to enjoy the whole experience of

They are packing local makers of all varieties into The Company House (see map below) on Gottingen street in Halifax. I will have a large selection of my items there including

I was recently asked to describe myself and came up with the following: “I am a black sheep that tends to wander away from the herd.” I’ve always been different and feel that how I see the world isn’t quite the same as everyone else. I enjoy my time alone and often wandering away from the path most travelled in search of exploring a new way around. Yes, there are many people I relate to and some I have a lot in common with but most of the time I just knew I was unique and different. Growing up I loved the Garfield cartoon
